Comings & Goings

Once again today the Kaikoura mountains were phenomenal, especially since they are now laden with even more snow.

With all the talk recently of Chez Lee jetting off to the other side of the world, and the latest that Michael is heading off 'on business' on Tuesday to Auckland, Bethany asked today if we could go watch some aeroplanes.

There is a gorgeous little spot that we had been meaning to visit since we arrived, where you can view the whole of Wellington Airport runway and have panoramic views of the local suburbs and out to the ocean.

The weather has been beautiful again today, although still only 10 degrees with a few layers on and the sun beaming it actually didn't feel that cold. After a little hike up a steep hill (where isn't there a hill in Welly?!) we were mesmerised by the airport being so close and beauty of the ocean and the local suburbs which we were surrounded by.

It was lovely to sit on a picnic bench all huddled up together and watch the planes take off and land. Bethany asked so many questions, every thing we say to her is now followed with a 'but why....tell me please why that happens'.

We had a little stroll through the pathway and we even managed to spot a few skinks, which was fun. We had a lovely time and next time we will definitely be packing a picnic!

On the afternoon we thought it was about time we caught up with our neighbours, its must have been months since we all got together (despite only living next door!) and so as the children played happily together we all got stuck into some alcohol and a few games of Wii Sports.

The weekend is now over for us, as tomorrow is again Monday. No matter where you are in the world no-one likes a Monday. For us though because we create so many amazing memories in one little weekend, our working week doesn't seem too long because we know that we will be able to enjoy it all over again very soon.
