Sanctuary Sunshine

On Friday Sarah and I took our girlies to Karori Wildlife Sanctuary. If you have read our previous posts you will see this is one of my favourite places and somewhere I try to go at least once a month. I am stunned at how just 5 minutes away from the city there is this tranquil haven.

We had a gorgeous day out. The weather was absolutely amazing, with temperatures reaching 20 degrees. We had a gorgeous walk through the sanctuary stopping off to take in some of the little delights it has to offer, such as the Birdsong Gully, Weta Hotels, Tui Terrace, the Goldmine, Kaka feeding stations and the Historic Dam!

The girls just loved the freedom to run and see all the beautiful trees and plants which had again changed in the Autumn season. Bird, Tuatara and Weta spotting was all good fun!

We spent some time by the Kaka feeding stations and then had a lovely walk up to the Historic Dam where the views are absolutely breath taking. The girlies enjoyed looking through the huge binoculars that view the whole of the Sanctuary.

We took the forest track back and the girls played 'pooh sticks' which was so much fun. Then once back at the wetland Charlotte was so lovely and surprised Bethany with some toys she had brought for them to play with.

And of that wasn't enough Sarah entertained us all with a few finger-puppet stories too!

Such a lovely day, the weather here is really spoiling us and we are loving every minute!
