Friday Fun

Well despite the cold start that we had here yesterday morning, by dinner time it was a gorgeous 19 degrees!
The day was just amazing, clear sky's and the views towards the South Island were breath taking.

So we decided to head down to the city, I love the city when its a gorgeous day. Wellington City for me isn't like a city at all, its fantastically clean, has the most amazing sculptures, and the tall buildings all seem to fit perfectly together. There is an abundance of trees, flowers and green grassy areas and all this looks over the harbour and out to sea.

After having a lovely stroll around, we headed to Bethany's favourite place - the play area! Frank Kitts Park is perfect. Bethany can play so happily here for hours and I can look either to the city or the sea in total relaxation.

After the fun in the park we headed to the Museum of Wellington City and Sea where they had a Public Zoo exhibition. The exhibitions change every few months and I thought it would be nice to take Bethany as she loves animals, and just loves going to the zoo.

It was really good, the museum itself was really interesting, and Bethany loved everything as there are loads of interactive things to help kids learn. Definitely her favourite part was the zoo exhibition. We read about the animals of the zoo, the history, made pictures which we stuck on the Imagination wall for everyone to see, created animals and watched a movie. All very impressive!

However Bethany's favourite part which we just had to keep looking at was the 'poo cubes'!

We had been in the Public Zoo for that long that Michael joined us from finishing work. We then took a stroll around the rest of the museum, which was really very interesting.

We then finished our lovely afternoon with a nice stroll back through the city (yep once again stopping off to play on the swings!) and then to Stellar where we had the yummiest pizza's ever!!
