With the permission slips signed and the credit cards padlocked by our husbands, Sarah and I went to the House and Home Exhibition at the TSB Arena down in the city today.
We first met for brunch at a lovely little place on the Wharf called Latitude 41.
We both reveled in the fact we could not only have a 'conversation' but actually finish it each time too!
I actually really enjoyed the exhibition, I managed to grab quite a few brochures and leaflets on house building and design which might come in useful hopefully sometime soon in our future!
If you don't know, NZ is a non-existent land of central heating and so at this time of year you suddenly learn to take quick toilet breaks in the night! It was very funny to see stalls selling radiators and boilers for central heating systems, all described as if it was some new revolutionary break through. I know for sure though that if and when we do build our own home that's number one on our checklist of must haves!
I do think though that both Sarah and I were both in agreement that the best part was being able to sample a few vino's at the Wine Society stall, ooops, who joined and is now a member receiving monthly wines? Yeah that would be us!
It was a great morning, such a refreshing break for the ladies to get out by themselves!
However the absolute best part of the exhibition was the most amazing bed, made by designer David Trubridge called Float. It was beautiful but with a price tag of $25,000, welllll I think its just lovely where it is thanks!
