Cold Fingers & Red Noses

Its been 10 degrees here today, slightly chilly but with the sun shining its been a gorgeous day again. We are all still feeling pretty rough and Michael has now developed 'man flu'. Enough said.

We could see the waves from the house and they were pretty impressive so we decided to take a trip to 'our beach'. We were there for nearly 3 hours and walked quite a way. Sea air is always a fantastic medicine.

It was a busy day today at the beach, well busy for kiwi standards anyway. The car park had about 12 cars in it and we must have passed at least 10 people whilst walking!

It was fantastic to watch dogs run for sticks into the sea and then haste a quick retreat when chased by the waves, and it was so much fun to see the motocross bikes speed up and down the beach also dodging the waves!

As we walked further you meet a point where there are the most beautiful rock pools, we must have spent most of our time here, Michael and Bethany were climbing the rocks and then we found the most amazing star fish!

Such an awesome place of total natural beauty. The waves today have been amazing, although they will get bigger as the Southerlies take hold.

There is currently a plan in to upgrade this area as it is pretty desolate with some really awful buildings and a rough car park. We think this upgrade will be absolutely amazing and make this an even better spot, although we kind of like it as 'our beach'!

But if you want to buy some land and build a house here you might need that lottery win. A small 580sqm piece of land is 'only' $475,000 (₤182,809.78)!!

No matter where you are in the world, it seems the sea is a reason to add extra value to a property, and rightly so, how can you ever put a price on this??
