On my way home from the City I was stopped at a road block by the police and told I couldn't enter Owhiro Bay due to a huge bush fire. I told the officer we only live 2 seconds down the road and he said that was where the fire was!
So our street was closed off but after an hour we managed to get access and we had a walk down to where all the action was. It even made the news and not much makes the news here!
