Part of the whole moving away thing that you do, includes saying goodbye to a lot of people. We left behind a lot of close family plus plenty of great friends. We get to see photos of the events people back in the UK attend and although we have made a great start to our new life here, we are sad to have missed these functions.
Recently, my cousin Claire married her partner David. The wedding took place in the village where I grew up, with all the family in attendance - except us of course...
It looked like everyone had a great day!
Another event we were sad to miss was a milestone birthday. My Nana was 80 on April 17th, and although we couldn't be there in person, we were there in a photograph!
It's hard to look back at other peoples memories and wonder how much fun it would have been, but at the same time we are making our own and living out our dream.
