A Savannah, Musical Chairs & A Doctor!

Saturday morning started with a bonding trip for Daddy and Bethany. Being members of Wellington Zoo meant we had a special invite to the grand opening of the new African Savannah which they have been working on for nearly a year now.

Sounds like they had an awesome time, as they watched in the glorious morning sunshine the zebras, ostriches, antelopes and giraffe all make friends.

As an extra special treat Bethany even got to feed a giraffe!!

I heard the whole story from Bethany when she came home, there were very few breaths in between as she told me about how she saw other animals too and how they saw a baby chimp - but he was 'kinda ugly'!

Sunday rolled around and we were excited to attend one of Bethany's little friends birthday party - Lydia was 4. There were heaps of children and they all had the most amazing fun playing, musical chairs, musical statues, pass the parcel and a treasure hunt whilst in between stuffing their faces with some yummy food and eating ice-creams!! Oh to be a child again!!

Of course you remember the story of our little angel and what she did to the carpet - well after 8 hours work, roughly $120 and a lot of reflection we think the carpet is clean. Yey for the Rug Doctor!!

All in all a fab weekend with some amazing weather for us to soak up. Life seems so easy here sometimes and we have started to 'forget' we are in NZ! Randomly every now and again one of us will say 'oh yeah, we are in New Zealand!'. Don't you just love it!
