Putting Up The Tree

Saturday the 8th of December was when we picked our Christmas Tree.

Last year we chose one from someone down the road who had literally headed up a forest and hacked some down. Feeling a little guilty about that we went and chose one from somewhere that was not only raising money for the local school but promised to replace the trees with new ones.

So conscience clear this year we stuck it to the top of the car and headed off. Bethany also found a 'tree' of her own!

Saturday was a dull day (albeit 22 degrees) and so the mood when putting up the tree this year felt more Christmassy. Christmas songs on, decorations out and one excited little girl meant lots of fun, especially when she decorated her own tree!

I recently bought some gorgeous tree decorations from the Wildlife Sanctuary in Karori which are of various New Zealand native birds and animals. My intentions to send everyone in the UK one failed as we wanted to keep them all for ourselves!

Our parents are very lucky people however and they have one but here are the ones I just couldn't give up!

So the house is now decorated, it smells fantastic and the excitement of our second Christmas here in NZ is overwhelming!!
