Socially Sociable

It's been a busy social time this weekend, but that's great as making new friends and being around wonderful people is just so satisfying and amazing.

Friday night we had the wonderful company of Jeremy and Monique. Michael met Jeremy at work and I met Monique through him. Monique is an actress and childrens entertainer so of course Bethany loves her. Monique read Bethany a bedtime story and she was utterley amazed when Monique performed some 'magic' and a $10 note fell from one of the books!!

The night was good, the boys played wii games whilst us girls chatted and then we all sat down to a lovely meal. It's great having the company of people that dont have children, the conversation can be so different without the emphasis being to talk about kids all the time, it's quite refreshing.

Saturday night we cooked a 3 course dinner for some wonderful friends who live in Raumati. Paul and Vicky are lovely people, Michael met Paul through motorbikes when we were in the UK just before the big move, they have been so suppportive since our arrival and so I made sure my parents met them when they came over earlier in the year.

Then today we headed to a birthday party for one of Bethany's gorgeous little friends. It was Davey's 4th birthday, and he celebrated with all his friends at the Kilbirnie Recreation Centre by wizzing round on bikes, scooters and skates. Bethany had a wonderful time and we were able to fuel our social addiction further by chatting with all the wonderful parents who we have come to know so well.

It's been a fantastic weekend of learning, bonding and developing some amazing friendships. It's taken a long time to build new realationships, and it's brilliant that everyone we have met has brought something new to our lives. And it is very true that you can never have too many friends.
