New Year Camping Trip - Part One!

Happy New Year!!

We hope you have all had a fantastic time! I know we certainly have.

On the 30th we headed off to Paekakariki (which is 20 minutes outside Wellington) for the most amazing camping trip ever. We met up with 6 of our closest friends and their families. What became of the days that followed are some of the most unbelievable moments ever, I cannot express to you just how much fun we have had - it has been so awesome.

We stayed at the Paekakariki Holiday Park from the 30th December to the 2nd January. Joining us were the families of:

Jo, Lewi and their sweetest children Sammy and Davey.
Joy, Dave (Lewis's brother) and their boy Josh, who also brought a friend of his along.
Craig, Rachel and their gorgeous boy Myles.
Stef, Rich and their gorgeous girl Daisy.
Tony, Denyse and their two stunning girls Beth and Maddie.
Susan, Grant and their beautiful children Samuel and Sophie.

We were booked in a 5 tent space plot (as when I booked this was all that was left) but the plot was of good size and in fact worked out perfectly. We all managed to get setup without any problems and a communal area was created in the middle courtesy of Lewi's gazebo. It couldn't have been a more of a perfect secluded private spot. The beer flowing from Camp Dawes upon arrival!

We all agreed to arrive at the same time and so we went forth with much standing around deliberating, hands on hips and scratching heads, finally leading the way to some serious tent building. Afterwards we all sat back, the children played and the alcohol was unleashed.

After the children all went to bed (without any trouble at all) we sat out till the wee hours talking and laughing. I will admit that before the trip I was a little concerned as to whether the different characters could/would relate, but it couldn't have been any easier. Everything was so relaxed, no-one felt that they needed to always go places together or always eat together, everyone could suit themselves, yet because of the way we setup we were all close enough to still be part of it all.

So as you can imagine I have a massive amount of photos and video. I am planning on doing the blog posts in three stages. So over the next few days you will get three installments, I will warn you now, there are some naughty words being used so please watch with caution!

Here we go, installment number one: New Year Camping Trip - Part One!
