Rural Style

After talking about missing a bonfire in my other post it was welcome news to find out we had again been invited to our friends Chris and Karolyn's house for a fireworks party. If it was going to be anything like last year (when Michael flew in a helicopter!) then we knew it was going to be good.

Chris and Karolyn have a gorgeous home. It takes a good hour to get to their house down the drive (well actually 5 minutes but it feels like an hour!). It's set in rolling hills with the most stunning views, rural, peaceful and just wonderful. Also still with the cow pat!

They are so lucky. Well it was all nice and quiet till all the guests showed up!

Michael was in his absolute element, like a monkey in a banana shop or a snail on my veggies, he was just beside himself with excitement. He got to ride motorbikes, quads, shoot and drink all at the same time. Yep he can multi task it seems when it comes to stuff like this.

Bethany played so very happily with the other children, she loved seeing Brianna (who is the daughter of another one of Michael's work colleagues) and she just adored hanging out with the older girls, who she idolises as they remind her of her cousin Amy back in the UK who she misses so desperately. Bethany loved the night, running from one place to another, pestering people - she was in her element too!

After a monster BBQ the bommy was lit, the sparklers came out and then the fireworks started. I got to meet some new work colleagues and we finally met our good friend Jeremy's new girlfriend. It was so lovely to be part of the magical night. Chris and Karolyn are so lucky to have such a wonderful place. A place that reminds me so dearly of my childhood, open land, tearing round on bikes...ah the memories. Maybe one day we can re-create all that for Bethany too.

Of course here are some more wonderful photos - thank you everyone for a fantastic night - see you all next year for another round!!
